CleanNG’s mission is to increase natural gas fuel storage and efficiency for natural gas vehicles. From CleanNG’s research, the company has discovered that natural gas has been slow to adopt for two main reasons.

  1. CNG fueling infrastructure is in it’s early stages, making it sometimes difficult to freely travel with out having anxiety between making fill stations.
  2. 2) Many tanks on the market are heavy and/or bulky reducing fuel economy and cargo space.

These issues have given many potential customers and fleet owners “range anxiety,” or the fear of not making it between fueling stations.

                                                            Solution:

Pressure gauge reading 5,800 P S IIn order to solve these issues as infrastructure grows.  CleanNG proposes to Increase the pressure from 3,600 psi to 5,800 psi. This pressure increase would allow for approximately 30 percent more fuel to be stored in the same given space as containers on the market today, extending the range of the vehicle without adding additional tanks.

On the contrary, the increase pressure could reduce the amount of fuel tanks stored on board, while still meeting the capacity of 3,600 models, reducing extra costs of an additional tank, and the hosing and equipment associated with each tank. As mentioned in the history of CNG, pressure has increased several times in pressure over the past forty years. This would allow for greater distances to be traveled on a single fill, helping to reduce “range anxiety.”  If you support the High-Pressure Movement, then contact us and let us know!
